For this Hollywood eyrie, the goal was creating a stage for outdoor living: seamlessly blended with the interior, of simple materials, in which a restored pool (pre-cast coping was replaced by cantilevered sand finish concrete) with a true “line of beauty” would take center stage. A dining deck and patio were cantilevered over the hillside, and a pool fence of vertical stainless steel rods was dropped below eye line to permit an undisturbed view of the city below.
